Cloud Cache Initial Setup Instructions:

  • Before you begin, ensure you are installing on a supported platform. Windows 7+ and Windows Server 2008 R2+ (32 bit and 64 bit) are supported.
  • Install the FSLogix Agent
    • The distribution zip file contains a 32 bit and a 64 bit version of FSLogixAppsSetup.exe. Choose the appropriate installer for your platform.
    • Enable FSLogix Profiles and/or Office 365 Containers (sometimes referred to as ODFC) by editing the following registry values in regedit.exe:
      • Office 365 Container: HKLM\Software\Policies\FSLogix\ODFC
        • “Enabled” = REG_DWORD:00000001

      • Profile Container: HKLM\Software\FSLogix\Profiles\
        • “Enabled” = REG_DWORD:00000001

      • Configure the CCDLocations
        • AFTER enabling Office 365 Container, Profile Container or both:
        • Open regedit.exe
        • Browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\FSLogix\Profiles" AND/OR
          "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\FSLogix\ODFC”
        • Create a REG_SZ value named "CCDLocations" and enter the paths that the Cloud cache files will be stored in, separated by semicolons.
          • The format of the data placed in this registry value is as follows:
            type=smb,connectionString=\\MyServerOne\MyShareOne;type=smb,connectionString=\\MyServerTwo\MyShareTwo

  • Important Notes: Spaces may NOT be used before or after delimiters in the CCDLocations value.

  • Ensure that the user or machine has the correct permissions for the specified path. The user will need to be able to create files and folders.
  • After the user is logged on, verify that the FSLogix Profile and/or ODFC container is attached and functioning by examining the log file located at %ProgramData%\FSLogix\Logs\Profile or %ProgramData%\FSLogix\Logs\ODFC.
