In Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 environments, the following patch from Microsoft must be applied in order for the FSLogix Office 365 Container product to work properly: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2614892

This guide is intended to provide the most basic steps required to get the FSLogix Office 365 feature functioning.  Further details are available in the Office 365 Containers documentation.

  1. Ensure you are installing on a supported platform.  Windows 7+ and Windows Server 2008 R2+ (32 bit and 64 bit) are supported.
  2. Install the FSLogix Agent
The distribution zip file contains a 32 bit setup.exe and a 64 bit setup.exe.  Choose the appropriate installer for your platform.
  3. Configure the "Enabled" setting
    1. Open regedit.exe
    2. Browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\FSLogix\ODFC"
    3. Create a DWORD value named "Enabled" (if not already present) and set its value to '1'
  4. Configure "VHDLocations" setting
    1. Open regedit.exe
    2. Browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\FSLogix\ODFC"
    3. Create a REG_SZ value name "VHDLocations" (if not already present) and enter a path where the VHD/X container files will be created.  This path can be a local path or a UNC path.  \\ServerName\share
    4. Ensure that the user you will be testing has the correct permissions for the specified path.  The user will need to be able to create files and folders.

  5. Ensure that the test user that will be logged on does have access to Outlook
  6. Log on the test user
  7. After the user is logged on, verify that the FSLogix ODFC Container is attached and functioning by running the FrxTray utility or by examining the log file in %ProgramData%\FSLogix\Logs\ODFC.
